The first thing you need to do is determine where you will be sending people to. Sending them to your website is a good start as it means that they can use the opt in form on your website and also browse whilst they are there.
Another way by having a Facebook group that they can join. A Facebook group is a great way to interect with your followers and build a relationship with them. At the start of the joining process, they can add their email address and give permission to receive emails.

Social media is key when it comes to your online marketing campaign. There are a number of different places that you can share your links in order to help grow your email list.
You can share your website or Facebook group link in your social media business page. This can be done with an engaging image and text explaining why they should click the link. This post can then be shared by yourself, your followers and friends. The more shares and comments that it gets, the more interaction and views you will get.
Through your page you can also add your link in a few different places. This can include a sign up form that they can fill in. Or you can link it through your cover photo and have them redirected to enter their email address.
You can also share your links through different groups and pages. Many business groups on Facebook allow you to promote your business during specific times. Make sure that you pay attention to the group rules and only promote when you are allowed to. If you do not agree to the rules or provide links when you are not allowed to, then you run the risk of being removed from the group and not being able to post any further.

Cross Promotion
Another way to get your business name out there and people joining your email list is though cross promotion.
Cross promotion works by teaming up with another business, or a few businesses and working together to create promotion.
Each business involved will share and link to the businesses involved and give their followers a chance to sign up or follow the other businesses.
This is a great way to build relationships with other businesses and increase your own following and email lists.

Another fun and engaging way to get people to join your email list is through a competition.
By having a competition you can increase your exposure and following for your business.
One of the requirements can be that they need to enter their email address and agree to receiving emails.
Competitions can be a very quick and easy way to bring in new business and increase your visibility.
When sharing your links to different sites or through your social media, ensure you are following the rules. The last thing you want is to look unprofessional.
