Email lists can be very beneficial for a business and can help to drive your business into great success.

An email list is a way to capture those people who come to your website or visit your social media accounts. It is a way to be able to keep in contact with them and provide them new and exciting information about your business.

But how exactly does it work and how does to benefit the business?

What is a mailing list?

A mailing list is a list of email addresses of those who want to hear from you. You can not just add any email addresses to a mailing list – they need to opt in or subscribe to the mailing list. This means that they are going out of their way to say yes, they want to hear from you.

Your mailing list can be kept in a word or excel document or uploaded directly into an automated mailing system such as mailchimp. This way you can create the emails to go out, add the list to it and then also track the open rates of the emails.

Once you have begun to establish your email list it is time to start interacting with the people on there. There are a number of different ways you can use your email list to your business’ advantage.

Sending out fortnightly or monthly newsletters to the contacts with information on your business, new products and blog posts will keep them interested and keep your business in their minds. Your emails can also include different VIP codes for discounts, competitions and links to helpful information.

Having direct links for your website to different products or services can help to increase the conversion rate of your sales. It is also a way to help separate you from others in your industry. If you are sending out an impressive newsletter to your contacts and providing them with valuable information – you will be seen as a leader in your industry. A business that others will look up to and you will be remembered above the rest.


What does an email list do for my business?

Your email list is another way to engage and convert potential customers. It is a way to interact with them, engage their opinions and give them valuable information.

Most importantly it gives you a way to keep in touch with those who are interested in your business. They might be interested the products or services that you provide but are not quite ready to commit yet. There are many reasons why they may not want to buy from you at the moment, but having them on your mailing list means that you can keep in touch with them, inform them of any changes and keep them in the loop.

Once they are ready to commit to a purchase, your business will be the first on their minds.

If you do not already have a mailing list for your business, now is the time to set one up. In order to get people to subscribe to your list there are different ways you can do it. You can create a download that they receive once they subscribe, a discount or a freebie. This will entice them to join your list and then once they are, you are able to then start the interacting and converting to sales.
