Engaging a Facebook audience is harder than you think. Most of the time people see your post and scroll right past.

If only it was still that easy. The reality is although it seems like that’s all it takes, there are some key elements you should include on your Facebook post for to engage your audience:
1. Photo
What makes you stop and look at someone’s photo on facebook when you are scrolling? It’s not the same old coffee cup with the leaf from the local cafe…. its something different! Put yourself out there and mix it up! Think about what would make you stop and look?
2. Emojis
The millennials are taking over but they are onto something when it comes to emojis. I’m not talking about having whole conversations with emojis… just some eye catching at the start and end of your caption. It adds some extra colour and draws the eye.

3. Hashtags
Don’t roll your eyes. I know it seems crazy but the truth is hashtags are working and are likely to be here to stay so we need to jump on board

4. Call-to- Action (CTA)
I can not stress enough how important this is! The old call to action, the vital element to any post but the one that gets left behind every time! There are two approaches to CTA:

Ask a question to get the conversation started on your post – the more comments and likes, the more it is seen and by more people.

Give your audience the answer – “Book now by visiting www.jessbyrnes.com/contact” or “Call us on …..” Lets be honest, most people are lazy and if you don’t capture them then and there its likely they will forget so do your best to lead the horse to water. What happens after that is out of your hands.
